Was at Mammoth mountain the last few days and the day we left (this morning) it was snowing pretty good. Got a half day in before driving home. The mountain got about a foot of powder overnight and was snowing hard enough all morning that when you went back up the lift, your previous tracks were gone, so every run was virgin powder. Nice! 🙂
I got a new snowboard (and some other stuff to do with it today)… I ended up getting a Burton Custom 154, Flow bindings some new boots and some *really* nice gloves (having cold or wet hands SUCKS!).
Anyway, just in case whoever stole my previous gear out of the back of my truck is reading this… “It sucks for you, because now you are going to hell and you are going to have no use at ALL for my snowboarding gear in hell. And if I ever see you, I’m going to stab you!”
Lame ass took EVERYTHING from the back of my truck… snowboard, boots, gloves, beanie, thermal underwear, socks, frisbees, etc.
I was in Mexico on Saturday helping give out gifts and feed kids (I never want to see another hot dog or piece of carne asada in my life), and we took a break to play a little street football.
I never realized how awesome I am at football… I caught the only touchdown for our team (we only had one) and on defense I had 2 defended passes and all the interceptions for our team (2). In fact the whole game ended when their quarterback quit after my second pick.
So, I’m hereby entering the 2006 NFL draft. I should be a high 2nd rounder I’m thinking. I can play offense and defense!
Oh… did I mention that the kids I played against were all 10-15 years old? 😉
I think the last time I played frisbee golf was around Thanksgiving (and it was many months for the time before that). I used to play every week, but lately I just haven’t.
Anyway, you will be glad to know that I didn’t (completely) forget how to play. Had a mediocre front-9, and finished 1 under par for the day. I need to get back to playing weekly.
That’s the only way I can sum up the Charger’s season. Now that they are officially not going to make the playoffs. They *should* be 14-1 at this point, but they aren’t… Instead they are 9-6.
All they need is to upgrade their defensive backs and maybe add another good wide receiver and it will be all good for next year.
On a positive note, the Raiders lost today too, so I don’t have to make sweet love to them.
I can’t ever remember a time where I actually wanted the Raiders to win a football game, but I do believe that time is upon us. If the San Diego Chargers beat the Kansas CIty Chiefs (hopefully they will) and the Oakland Raiders beat the Denver Broncos… then guess what?
That sets up a San Diego/Denver showdown for the AFC West title in San Diego on new years eve.
Someone needs to go digging around in Randy Moss’ butt and see if they can pull an upset out of his ass.
“Please Santa, all I want for Christmas is for the Raiders to beat Denver. Oh, and peace on earth too.”
San Diego was the team that went into New England and beat the Patriots at home for the first time in years (21 straight home game victories). Now they went to Indianapolis and treated Peyton Manning like the little bitch that he is. Indianapolis was the NFLs only unbeaten team (13-0) and San Diego killed their aspirations of an undefeated season.
Peyton Manning isn’t all that great. Maybe Indianapolis will bring Ryan Leaf out of retirement to give them a real quarterback. 🙂
I went to the game today and San Diego didn’t look so hot. They were beat (at home) by the Miami Dolphins (not exactly the best team). San Diego goes to Indianapolis next week to play the undefeated Colts next week in their home stadium. Joy. 🙂
Maybe loosing to the Dolphins will get them pissed off enough to kill the Colt’s dream of an undefeated season.
I’m going to the Raider/Charger game on Sunday. Are you jealous? 🙂
The San Diego Chargers are still clutching to their playoff hopes. They beat Washington today (barely)… They needed to score 16 unanswered points at the end to squeak out a win. Just like a couple weeks ago, LaDainian Tomlinson scored all of the Charger touchtowns (3 of them today).
Dude… the Dallas Cowboys suck. Missed a 34 yard field goal that would have won the game. Instead it goes into overtime and they lose to the Denver Broncos. Which of course is really lame for any Charger’s fan.
The Dallas Cowboys are BASTARDS!
The arbitrator in the Terrell Owens saga ruled against Owens, forcing him to sit out the rest of the reason. The Eagles could trade him at this point, but they won’t… which means Owens gets to do nothing until March or so when they will put him on waivers.
He’s a prick, but he’s a damn good receiver. Since he isn’t making any money right now and can’t play NFL football until next year, maybe he would like to play some flag football for me. I’m willing to pitch in $1,000 to have him play on my team. 🙂
The NFL power rankings came out for the week and they have the Chargers pegged as the #5 team.
The sucky thing? If the season ended today, they wouldn’t make the playoffs. Let’s hope the Cowboys and Chiefs beat Denver the next two weeks.
Uhm, it was a straight up ass-kicking this afternoon. The Chargers were up 35-10 at halftime and finished the game 48-10. Those are the good games. The ones that are over in the first quarter. 🙂 Charger’s kickoff coverage looked pretty crappy (Bills were pretty much starting on the 50 every possession), but other than that, everything looked good.
The only bad news is Antonio Gates hurt his foot… so hopefully he is better by next week.
Would be ideal if the video quality was better, but it’s still cool… 🙂
The Chargers won the game today (barely), but why do they insist on giving me a heart attack every week???
LaDainian Tomlinson scored all 4 Charger touchtowns, not bad I guess.
I also saw the first rough sketches of a 5 hole golf course for my house. It looks pretty damn cool if I do say so myself. It even has a pond in the middle (although I didn’t see a golf cart path). 🙂
The front of the house is going to have a “moat” too, with a waterfall feeding it So you will have to drive over the moat to get to the garage and walk over a bridge to get to the front door. I think this is going to be a pretty cool house when it’s all said and done. 🙂
Dude, the San Diego Chargers should be 7-0, but instead they are 3-4. The 4 losses have all come with them leading in the last 2 minutes. Today they got beaten by the Philadelphia Eagles with such last minute stupidity I want to cry.
Still have to give some props to the Eagles for shutting down LaDainian Tomlinson like they did.
I don’t know how often it happens, but I can’t imagine it happens all the time that an NFL player rushes for a touchdown, catches a pass for a touchdown and also PASSES for a touchdown in a single game. But it happend today for the Chargers with LaDainian Tomlinson against the Raiders.
What would be funnier is if Drew Brees caught a touchdown pass from LaDainian Tomlinson. 🙂
The San Diego Chargers played a game in Foxborough against the New England Patriots at home. For those that don’t know, the Patriots are the defending Super Bowl champions (have also won 3 of the last 4 Super Bowls). And have not lost at home in 21 straight game (their last loss at home was against the Jets on December 22, 2002, so it’s been awhile).
Anyway, the San Diego Chargers ended that streak today and treated them like their red-headed stepchild (especially in the 2nd half where the Chargers outscored the Patriots 24-0). The final score was 41-17 Chargers. 🙂
I got invited to a golf tournament (as an attendee, not a player) that’s going on today. I guess it’s a two on two tournament with Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Retief Goosen and John Daly.
My first golf tournament I’ve ever been to (well I played in 2 before). I know everyone cares.
I need to buy some clubs and start going to the driving range, because golf is fun (but I suck).
I’m not much of a TV watcher, but Wildboyz and Viva La Bam are pretty damn funny. Don Vito is such an idiot on Viva La Bam, that I’m not sure if I’m supposed to laugh and this guy or feel sorry for him (although I usually laugh).
Anyway… the whole reason for this entry, is not because I care enough about any TV show to actually write about it in itself. But I had a dream last night with Bam, Steve-O and Chris in it. For some reason (you know how dreams are), I left my Hummer running with the keys in it in some ghetto alley while I went to a friends house. To my amazement, someone stole my truck.
Okay… that sucked, so now I’m walking home (which is some weird dry river bed) where I find Steve-O stabbing iguanas and laughing because he thought it was funny (it wasn’t). I ended up grabbing Steve-O and biting his pinky off to see if he thought that was funny too (he didn’t). Then all of a sudden, I see someone driving my Hummer through the riverbed (it was Bam and Chris looking for Steve-O). I don’t really remember what happened after that, but I remember being pissed off that Bam stole my Hummer. What a dick!
I’m really not a baseball fan, but what I want to know is how in the hell the San Diego Padres all of a sudden are awesome?
They went 22-6 this month (May), have won 6 straight, 11 straight at home, are in first place, etc, etc… What the hell? I thought San Diego sports teams were always supposed to suck?
Maybe I should go to the stadium for a game one of these days (I haven’t been to the new stadium at all, and they have been using it for 1 1/2 years now).
I don’t know why I find this funny, but I do…
Texas lawmaker Al Edwards proposed a bill (which passed on a 85-55 vote) that specifically forbids cheerleaders to do “sexy cheers”, “shake their behinds” and/or “break it down”. What exactly is “breaking it down” anyway?
That’s our tax dollars being well spent. 🙂
BTW, does anyone else think Al Edwards looks like Morgan Freeman’s long lost twin brother?
I played a good round of disc golf with my dad today. Missing my best score by one, and he played the worst game I can remember him playing. I beat him by 15 strokes (I ended up 4 under par, and he was 11 over. This one was cool because I did not get any bogies for the first time in my life.
It’s been a few months now since I’ve had a round where I was over par. I rule the back nine now, and today I birdied the following holes:
Okay, well technically 13 wasn’t a birdie, but I still made it in 2 shots. I had a penalty stroke because I overshot the pin on my initial drive by about 30 feet and went out of bounds. Out of bounds is lame.
Not as good as my 5 under par score, but I played frisbee golf today (for the first time since that score), and I ended up 3 under par. Still better than average… Plus I’m sick, so I’ll use that as an excuse.
The worst part is that I was 5 under for awhile, then I got a bogey on 17 and 18. Oh well, I suck.
I played my best game of frisbee gold ever today. I ended up being 5 under par (my previous best was 4 under). What’s really a pisser is 5 or 6 strokes were lost just because I can’t putt worth a crap. But my drives are pretty good. 🙂
It’s been raining in San Diego lately (first rain in 6 months), so it’s starting to feel like fall… and snowboarding season will soon be upon us. Yay! 🙂
Not that I really know *how* to play Tennis that well, but I started playing (well, at this point I wouldn’t exactly call it playing… more like trying to play).
It’s a pretty fun sport (I’ve played three times in the last week now, and each time I’m getting better). Even hitting the ball against the practice wall is pretty fun. I figure it will be at least a month or two before I’m good enough to go pro though (and earn some supplemental income).
