Apparently it’s possible to “unregister” a domain somehow… because someone registered shawnhogan.com 2 months ago, and today it was available for registration. So whatever, I registered it.
What the hell??!? (blah, blah of a wannabe alien)

What’s the plans for the domain so far?
I’ve wanted to unregister a domain, but I didn’t think you can.
This happened to me. Someone usurped me by one day in the registering of my name but like a week later it was available. This happened to a friend of mine as well.
I wonder if it’s some kind of domain scam where they don’t buy the name but reserve it somehow and make money off of the ads during the grace period.
why do you think he unregistered it? Did you send him a little letter? 😉
No, I didn’t send him a letter… I could care less if someone owned it.
I’ve heard registrars can register names and not pay. They do this, test the traffic for natural traffic. If they find a winner they pay and show ads on it. If they dont get any traffic they toss it back.
Basically it’s a free way for registrars to test traffic without paying for domains. Probably not places like Net Sol, but there are plenty of piss ant sized registrars that would try something like this.
I’ve mistaked a spelling many times and weeks or months later, I checked again and it was taken. But it’s been registered for over 2 years. That’s how i know i spelled it wrong. I now triple check my spelling. BTW how did you set up this posting thing??
